The Halo & Bolton Abbey

The Halo

One of the Lancashire Panopticons, Halo .The Halo is 18 meter wide, raised 5 meters off the ground and glows light blue in the night. A self sustaining installation, it’s powered by solar and wind, while there on a quiet morning you can hear the whizz of the turbine. I took a slight detour on my work commute and chanced it for a sunrise. I was not to be disappointed and grabbed some fantastic shots.

Bolton Abbey

Returning from work, the commute took me to another favourite spot, the Bolton Abbey Estate. The looming sunset was’t as striking as the sunrise, mainly due to Bolton Abbey sitting lowdown on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. By the time the colours hit the sky, they normally pass over Bolton Abbey and can be seen in the distance behind.
