A collection of heritage Diesel Engine ran over the bank holiday weekend, with a good mix of steam engines. This proves a very popular weekend on the KWVR calendar. Featuring 6 visiting diesel locomotives, including a one of kind, Prototype HST Locomotive, No.41001.

Prototype HST Locomotive, No.41001 is it is the only one of its kind in the world and is famous for smashing the UK rail and world diesel speed record in 1973 at 143.2mph. The engine was developed to have faster acceleration and cruising speed with its aerodynamic front and was one of the most innovative creations of its time.
